HEALTHCARE LEADERSHIP

A youth Leader’s perspective.                                                                                                                      Aloyce P. Urassa  Leadership is a very vital aspect of development in any organization or community. Without good leadership, the sense of organization and system management is already lost. In today’s world things are constantly changing hence a need for a coping mechanism that requires innovative and creative minds. Such abilities of innovation and creativity to cope with the diverse world can only be harnessed from the potential within a leader. Healthcare is one of the very crucial systems running the world today. According to WHO, the  building blocks for a health system are service delivery, health workforce, access to essential medicine, health information system, financing, and leadership/governance. Leadership is a cross-cutting component providing the overall basis of policy and regulation of all other building blocks.  Leadersh

PURPOSE

YOUR GIFT IS TIED TO YOUR PURPOSE. Everyday I set time to meditate I find automatically asking myself some of very fundamental questions. These are questions I have been learning in several settings and more intensively during Foundation of Faith lectures at the university.  My lecturer who was a pastor used to repeat the questions often even in different topics. The questions were more tied in a topic ‘PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE’.  1. Who am I ?(IDENTITY) 2. Where do I come from (INHERITANCE/ORIGIN) 3. Where am I going to ?(DESTINY)  4. What am I supposed to do? (PURPOSE)  5. Where am I ? (BELONGING) I might have not gotten them exactly but the point is that, to define and decide your life is all upon oneself. If we deeply reflect on the gifts that we deeply carry WITHIN ourselves then we have a great chance to change ourselves and others as much as we wish.  Without determining your purpose it is obvious that failure and regrets will never detach from your way. You will always feel forgotte

COVID-19: YOUNG PEOPLE HAVE A TASK TODAY AND TOMORROW                          By: Aloyce P. Urassa, Youth Leader for Health-Tanzania Every time I listen or watch the news, I learn the world is speaking one language. Even though there are no new cases update within country, we are all in one way or the other talking about COVID-19, which has so far washed away over three hundred and sixty thousand lives, bruised the economy and social life at large.    As the world is in shambles and experiencing a huge adjustment into “the new normal” it is clear and beyond doubt that the world needs not only to bounce back but to correct and adjust for a better tomorrow.     On 26 th April 2020, during my presentation on radio about engagement of young people in health systems strengthening, I received a very interesting and rhetorical question from a listener who introduced himself as a young person, “How can the government or any institution move forward in planning and even implementation of poli

WHEN WILL I LIVE AGAIN? Urassa Aloyce   It’s night already, Quietly sitting in my room, I hear a voice around, “When will I live again?” It sounds like a young lady, Calling her dad and mom, Asking, “Why all these”? “When will I live again?” “Through love you were bound together, In it you decided, And the outcome was me, but When will I live again?” With discipline you raised me, Morals you installed in me, But look! These men are ruining me, When will I live again?   With disappointments I exist, Miserably walking and speaking, Holding a lot in my heart, When will I live again? Pray dad, pray mom, For these men to take care, Not to destroy me, Then, I will live again. ©2019

ENTREPRENEURSHIP, INNOVATION AND CREATIVITY. A PATH TO SUSTAINABILITY AS HEALTH PROFESSIONALS.                                Aloyce P. Urassa  The World is fully of challenges as well as opportunities. Health being one of the very challenged sectors creates a need for strategic plans and visions by really people. Being creative and innovative is among the core values that any health professional who is really focused, determined and passionate should posses. Health practitioners are called to be realistic and able to cope with the complexity of the health system.  Becoming a health professional is merely being a people’s servant than just an employee. Health is a carrier that needs passion, readiness, enough skills and knowledge. It is an opportunity from God for one to stand between life and death of an individual. Being realistic in practice is the best feature that one needs to posses to lead to excellence and Godly rewards. Why do we need sustainability as health pro
